Instructions for completing electronic Census form


For the first time in history, it is possible to fill in and sent the questionnaire e-form of the Census 2011 by means of the Internet. It is the simplest and, simultaneously, the most comfortable way to provide data from the Census form to the Czech Statistical Office.

You can fill in and send all data simply from your home or office.

  •  paper-based questionnaire forms bearing access codes necessary for logging in on-line e-form
  •  a computer with an Internet connection
  •  software Adobe Reader, version 9.0 and higher, which can be downloaded for free

Prepare paper-based Census forms and explanatory notes you have taken over from the Census officer. Communicate to the Census officer that you will fill in the forms electronically and thus there is no need for him to come back to you to pick the filled paper forms
Before starting the questionnaire e-form filling, download for free, please, software Adobe Reader, version 9.0 and higher from the website of its producer.
In order to download and send the e-form you must have your computer connected to the Internet.
After the midnight from 25 to 26 March 2011 an information system, in which you can fill in appropriate e-forms, will be accessible under the icon of “On-Line Filling” at the address www.scitani.cz.
Once you have entered access codes, copied from the paper questionnaire form, you can download a file containing appropriate e-form, which is very similar to the printed one. If your printed form has been partially filled in advance, the electronic form will be filled in advance as well. If you have received the paper-based questionnaire form out of your permanent residence, identification data are filled in the printed questionnaire form by hand – then copy and enter the data into the electronic questionnaire form (e-form).
To ensure maximum security and protection of your data, it will not be possible to save the electronic forms in any way during the filling-in.
Before sending the e-form, checks of basic relations among respective questions of the questionnaire are carried out. The check will draw your attention to blank or misentered fields. Following the checking and fixing of potential errors, send the e-form and wait till you receive the confirmation notice on successful sending.


Electronic forms (e-forms) of the Census 2011 will be available for filling, and sending after the decisive moment, that means after the midnight from 25 to 26 March 2011.

Return the filled in forms by 14 April 2011, please.
